Features
- In 2011, I felt there was something missing from our club line up. I've been a weaver for a while so I had noticed there were very few kits available. Out of those, there were even fewer that were available for the Rigid Heddle weaver. In walks the Weaving club.
- In 2011 we did the club on a monthly basis and it was a lot of weaving. In 2012 it will be a bi-monthly club. You will have until January 30th to sign up to receive February's club that will ship mid month (that's Mid February to be clear). Another payment won't be pulled until March that will pay for a club shipping in April....and so on until the final payment is pulled in November and the final club ships in December. Once January 30th, 2012 has passed, the club will be closed until the end of February or by special invite so new members won't be paying too far in advance. If there is room in club, it will re-open March 1. So if stock here is zero and it won't let you order, contact me info at spunkyeclectic dot com
- Shipping is included in the price.
- What do you get exactly?: I will send you the yarn and the instructions to make your woven scarf in the pattern of the month. Some months will be really easy and other months will be moderate. Sometimes the yarn will be Handpaint, sometimes commercial, and sometimes both. I've got some great plans for this year. Instructions/patterns are detailed enough that beginners can do this project. In each one there are alternate directions for those that are weaving on multi-shaft looms.
- Not sure you’ll like the colors? You will have 5 color families to choose from. When you sign up, you'll be able to choose your options. Exactly what you get will be a surprise but it will be in the color family you have chosen. Just like the other club, there are no refunds/returns/exchanges on club. I will be buying yarn specifically to send out with this club and some may not be yarns we will regularly carry in the shop.
- As always we welcome your questions and will take pre-pays if you want to email us at info at spunkyeclectic dot com.
- The least you will need is a rigid heddle loom that can weave 8 inches or larger. In general we use the 8,10, and 12 dent heddles most. You will also need 2 stick shuttles. For some of the months you will only need one but we're going to do a few scarves that will have more than one color in the weft which will necessitate 2 shuttles.
- The photos shown here are only representational. They show clubs from the previous year. We will not repeat old colorways/patterns. We may do a similar weaving patterning (like we may do houndstooth again) but it will be with a different yarn and different colorways. All will be fresh and new.
- Color families:
- Earth - browns and greens (maybe with some teal too)
- Wind -Blues and purples
- Fire - oranges and reds (maybe with some brown or yellow)
- Naturals - browns, greys, ecru, and black
- Surprise- It's a surprise as to what you'll get. Just like the Original Spunky Fiber and Yarn clubs. It's always good but at times will take you out of your color comfort level.
- Patterns and kits may be available later on in a limited basis and once any overstock is sold off, will not be sold in club color combos. Also the club is getting a reduced price. Kits range from $30 to $36 plus shipping. Club will pay $30 for their kits with shipping included that arrive under the subscription.
