Man am I bummed!

Friday, March 30th, 2007

Man I’m so bummed reading abnd seeing your great yarns and fiber for this month. Mine is late in coming. I sure hope it comes tomorrow. I can’t wait to see it, and get to work on spinning it.

Finished Forecast Socks

Friday, March 30th, 2007

My handspun, hand knit Forecast socks were finished last night. You can see the pair on my blog today.

It was so much fun to spun, ply and knit this color and fiber. Thanks Amy!

My Yarn

I’m obviously late in posting my sample since I was beat to the punch.

To me, Dandelions mean spring. I had to include white in there prominently because you can’t forget making the first wish of the season when you blow the fluffy seeds away.

Just got my March Fiber and spun it up already!

This is my first month in the club and I just couldn’t wait to spin up this month’s roving, it was so beautiful.  Here is a link to my blog if you want to see.

I am a newish spinner, but I am finally feeling comfortable at it.  :)  I already can’t wait until next month.  ;)

March Fiber

Saturday, March 24th, 2007

I’ve just received the March fiber club fiber and it’s fantastic. It’s called Dandelion and it’s so bright and cheerful it made me laugh when I opened the box. Totally great colors!!! And, it’s Superwash Merino, which I’ve never spun before. Yippee!

I started spinning Forecast today and it’s spinning like a dream. I’ll post some pictures when I get the first bobbin spun up. I’ve divided the fiber lengthwise and I’m going to *try* spinning a two ply with the colors matched up. This is my first try doing this so wish me luck!

EDIT - there are some pictures on my blog now of the Forecast singles and the March fiber (which is actually named Dandy Lion!)

Spunky Forecast Sock

Friday, March 23rd, 2007

Forecast was my first shipment of Spunky Club roving. I’m looking forward to the next already. I spun and then used plied chained singles (aka Navajo plying) to make the yarn and then decided to knit socks (instead of Argosy as first planned). I’m so happy with my first handspun sock and can’t wait for a pair! We should have just enough winter left that I’ll be able to wear them at least once. Check out the picture on my blog and/or the Flickr group. Thanks!
