Here’s what I knitted with the Aspen roving I spun. Its a pattern I made up based on the “Ripple and Ridge” stitch pattern from Vogue Stitchionary Vol 1.

I loved working with this yarn and the colors were so lovely, more pics after the cut

Tuesday, January 29th, 2008

funny, january’s fiber arrived during a big snow storm, how appropriate ;) well, i got it all spun up really fast and i love it! spun low twist singles then fulled a bit…worsted/heavy worsted weight and about 140 yards. here’s a link to a pic, i don’t want to ruin it for anyone still waiting on theirs!  http://www.flickr.com/photos/21898772@N02/2227198467/

If you want a sneak peak at the fiber and the colors… GO HERE. I didn’t put one up of the yarn but it’s a little different from the fiber this time.

Full(ed) of Pie

Bulky low twist singles. 190 yards 9 wpi. I fulled these to death because they kept threatening to untwist and fall apart. Sadly I knit something rather ugly and ill-fitting, which wasn’t discovered until felted so I may try to cut and sew something usefull out of the felt.

It’s Party time!

Monday, January 21st, 2008

I finished spinning my first club fiber (November’s is still waiting).  :D  I really like how it came out!  Now for the Nitty Gritty…  I took the three primary colors and seperated them out and spun them up in to their own singles and then plied together.  The odd colors and left over singles will be plied together for a two ply.  This was handspun on a drop spindle, Trixie from ford4him on Etsy.  I only started spinning about a month ago.  :D  My thought is to make a hat from this and I’ll probably use the odd’s and end’s for the pom-pom.  It spun up to a bulky weight yarn.  I haven’t checked wpi yet but according to the spinner’s control card, it’s about 7 wpi in general.  Such fun colors!

I’m going to the party with my “Party Dress”!

Friday, January 18th, 2008

I’ve finally got my “Party Dress” today (even though it said “Airmail” on the package, they must have strapped it on a Turkey)! It burned my retina, I can’t see! :o)

Hope to get to it soon,

happy spinning,

Monika
