Roses in Bloom
Thursday, July 17th, 2008I spun my Rose Garden as a worsted single… my first attempt at trying to create something like Manos del Uruguay or Malabrigo - my favorite yarns to knit with. I spun it very loosely, but even then it was coiling up on itself after I took it off the niddy-noddy. I knew it would relax a bit as I set the twist so I put it in some hot water, let it cool overnight and hoped for the best. The next day I squeezed out most of the water, swung it around in wide circles outside to get any more excess out, and hung it to dry in the sun. (You can read more details on my blog…

Oh, it’s pretty… Oh, it’s soft… Oh, it’s so lovely… I could just barely wait for it to dry before I flung it on my swift, wound it into a ball and put it on the needles.
