Features
- PROCESS and INFO:
This is a wheel thrown terracotta cup with majolica - style
- glazes. I have formed each one by hand on a potter's wheel. I've made
- pottery for a long time so each one is quite similar but there are
- variations in the exact form of the piece and in the painting. Please
- note that if you buy more than one, they will not be exact like a mass
- produced item would be.
Once the clay is formed, it's given it's - first firing in the kiln then the white glaze is added and designs are
- painting on top of that. I have formulated my glaze and make my work to
- have white dots and pieces of the red clay showing. Everything is
- dinnerware safe and all of the way it looks is about esthetics. It's
- what I like to call Rustic Majolica.
Everything is dinnerware - safe. It's safe for the microwave and the top of rack of the dishwasher.
- Though, with any handmade one of a kind item considerate use is always a
- good idea.
