Countermarche looms have an extra set of lamms longer than the other lamms. This allows you tie the shafts up in sets that make everything work in a slightly different way than the Jack loom. Basically when you press a treadle on a Jack loom the shaft is either lowering or raising. On a Countermarche when you press a treadle you are raising the ones you want and lowering the others all at the same time.
