The first project off the fancy loomie is done.

It still needs a wash and a twisting of the fringe but it’s off the loom.
Alpaca twill about 9 inches wide and about 6 feet long.
The second project is on

And it obvious that I need to bring my Ott-Lite down to light loomie.
This is a bad photo of a Woolease scarf for husbeast. He wanted it mostly black and thick with stripes at the ends. So it’s a weft faced scarf in twill. I had already advanced the warp before I took photos. Silly me had hoped that I would get more done on it yesterday.
Can you tell?
I’m making Christmas scarves.
Who says I’m late?
Hopefully husbeast’s scarf will be done tomorrow and then I can move onto the others. I have about 5 more I want to do before I’ll allow myself to move onto weaving cloth for the jacket I’ve been designing in my head. I used to make fun of Husbeast and his family because they all have a lateness problem. ok, maybe I still do I always say that if you want him to be a certain place at 2 then you need to tell him to be there at 1. It seems that while he’s gotten better over the years, I’ve gotten a tad worse. At least in the gifty department.
Back to the Alpaca scarf. I want to work up one more scarf a little less wide. 9 inches is a huge scarf and it used more yarn that I expected (I took a guess and didn’t actually do the weft math). Eventually I’ll make the kit available in the shop.
This year there wern’t any Christmas tears. The past few years someone has gotten something the other wanted or some thing happens to make a little girl cry that no one has any idea what caused it. As hard as I’ve looked, there are no manuals for little girls. So we expect tears every year, but this year was blissfully dry eyed. Christmas came and went with nary a problem and a houseful of happy girls.
The PJ’s were made with 24 hours to spare.
Usually I’m making PJ’s right up until the last minute

The sweaters were completed…sort of.

Baby Boogie’s was completely finished and she’s worn it twice already. 8goingon20 has a sweater but it needs buttons. I thought I had purchased buttons for it but the ones I found just weren’t right.

I need to take a little trip to the cloth store and find 7 buttons that will be perfect for little adult girl cardigan.
And we have a new family member

He/she has been living here for a couple of weeks already so he’s really settled in. There is a long story behind the snake and why she belongs to the three year old of the house. Of course I’m no ding dong thinking she’s going to do the care taking. I have owned snakes before and I’m happy to have another. Still we are calling the snake Baby Boogie’s pet and she’s thrilled while 8goingon20 is acting all girlie and screams when Marlow is out of the cage.
Long story…..
My cousin had a snake with no place to keep it until she moved. We let the snake live here and Baby Boogie fell in love with it. She talked to it, held it, pet it…Then my cousin moved and her snake, Marlow, moved with her. Baby Boogie since then has been making Playdough snakes to hold and drawing snakes. Just generally pining away for Marlow. The look on her face was priceless when she saw the snake on Christmas morning. Of course, she only wants to call it Marlow. She’s given her Marlow chapstick (on the glass of the cage) and a toy horse (on top of the cage), and spent lots of time just talking to her Marlow.

The girl’s holiday sweaters are almost done (buttons, I need to find the right buttons). I cut out the PJ’s and the stockings are ready to fill…… And I’m utilizing my easy take along knitting project for some comforting relaxing knitting

I didn’t mention to many people that when I went to Schacht headquarters in September that I hatched a plan to get myself a Baby Wolf. I wasn’t sure it would actually happen but then I got a phone call that they were putting the finishing touches on it. It arrived late Wednesday afternoon. I know you’d rather see photos then hear me blather on.

That’s the quick photo I took before I dived in getting her set up.
Look at those shafts:

And the Treadles/Lamms:

The treadles make me all weak in the knees.
She’s a special order in Black Walnut, Cherry, Maple, and a few pieces of Oak thrown in there too. I’ve talked to Jane at Schacht and they’ll do one more for me like this if anyone is interested. They don’t have a lot of Black Walnut parts so there is only one more that can possibly done

More of the Rustic Red.
