There seems to be little time to work on anything these days but I’ve made a little headway on the little boss’s sweater:

The back is done and I’m working up the front. I should be breaking for the neck soon. I want this off the needles so I can get back to February Lady and then move on to Liesl and then on to CeCe and maybe work on my Dad’s sweater and then this other sweater I designed and a vest and….
This was supposed to be Wednesday’s post but with getting club out, my brain sort of short circuited on the fact that I’m ignoring my poor little blog.
I got these 2 wooden boxes in the mail the other day:

Some of you might know that they of course contain spinny stuff from Bosworth.
Charkha

and Journey

If you have the chance to spin on one of these at a show, don’t….you’ll have to have one. If you have the funds to get one then you need to order from Bosworth. I haven’t gotten to play with either a lot because of work and trying to stick to my “work week” but I have taken time to marvel at them. The engineering and the way they work. It’s amazing. These tools are so well thought and operate so smoothly. I’m in awe every time I open up the charkha and put on the drive belt…. or every time I open up Journey and she’s ready. Ready to go.
I’ve thought of getting a larger purse just so now I can carry the Charkha with me every where. My knitting, my kindle, my charkha and a spindle. I’m good to go. My bag just keeps getting bigger and bigger to accommodate all the “must not leave the house without”. Soon I’ll need a wheel barrow just to carry it all.
Hooked on singles yarns. I want to spin them all the time now. That’s not to say that I’m not doing plied yarns but I’m really enjoying the singles more than anything right now. So much so that I decided that we needed a spin along/knit along. It’s being hosted on Raverly Here.
I decided I needed to design a shawl for knit along portion so that’s I spent a little time doing over the weekend.

I’m knitting the sample with fiber from Southern Cross Fibre Shetland in Koala. It’s a single spun at 16-18WPI. For the Knit along I’m going to do about 18-20WPI
Everyone likes photos. I know I do. Though, I rarely take photos of the new stash that enters this house. Only recently did I start to take photos of all the yarns I’ve been making. It’s actually really good photography practice and it’s a good way to keep track of “stuff”. I might keep up with it or it might get to the ridiculous point. Or at least seemingly ridiculous to me. Stash seems to increase in fits and spurts. Some of the spurts are quite amazingly huge. In the past week this is the latest spurt.
I made a few more yarns that will head into the stash.

440 yards of Organic Merino thick and thin singles. The colorway is a mistake. It’s one I think I can recreate though and may add to the line.
This one won’t be in stash long. It’s for Liesl (Ravelry Link).

500+ yards of 3 ply CorriePaca. I used Bing Cherry for 2 plies and a light Red Maple for the remaining ply.
Another Thick and Thin Single

Southern Cross Fibre that’s destined to become mittens. Speaking of Southern Cross….I have a bunch of new stash. Well. Something is already on the wheel so it’s technically not stash but I do have a ton all together.

And then I got some lovely goodies from Ewe Give Me The Knits.

BFL and 2 that are BFL/Bamboo blends. Yummy stuff for sure. One of them is sitting in my spinning basket waiting for it’s turn.
That’s a great word to describe Baby Boogie. Oh sure, she’s got a cute chubby cheeked face and all that curly hair. She’s pint sized and looks like she couldn’t possibly be any trouble at all. But when it comes to wanting more handknits she’s pretty darn demanding.
I wasn’t thrilled with the hot pink Noro sweater. It was a little big and a little, um, hot glaring pink. So I fulled it enough to fit 8goingon20. Seeing her sister with a new sweater brought out the little green eyed monster that lives inside Baby Boogie so she demanded a sweater.
She’s old enough to look through books and pick out her own yarn so that’s just what we did yesterday afternoon.

Ribbed Yoke from Debbi Bliss Cotton Book and Woolease in 140 Rose heather.
It’s a really good “reading while knitting” knitting. At least until the yoke. Then I’ll have to pick out another Stockinette or garter project.
