I finished a little knitting too.
Friday night I finished knitting a pair of socks for the Baby Boogie

Skinny Sock - Celebration
The pattern is a made up one with a picot hem and garter heel. They were meant for 8goingon20 but since it’s taken me years to finish them they had to go to Baby Boogie and are yet a tad too big. I think her feet will grow.
I might have also cast on for some other things but I figured I’d talk about the MA sheep and woolcraft show finds.
From Foxhill farms I got 4 fleeces and goodies that are ready to spin:

The black is what she called a “medium grade” cormo but it’s super nice anyway and I got the yellow green to go with it for some patterning around the yoke or hems. The little bag of grey is one of 2 that I got because I needed to spin right away and spin on something that wasn’t mine. I love my fiber but sometimes I just want something else. Ya know, like going out to eat.
I got some Fantom goodies

I can’t remember which one is which but the small bags are for socks and the big bag is big enough for a sweater. We’ll see what it all ends up as.
Some goodies from Winterberry Farm.

The greyish color is a lovely heather soft blend, the green is Romney, and the white is Karakul. I also managed a couple of fleeces from them as well.
And then because I was lucky enough to have Bosworth across the aisle from me…. I had to get a couple new spindles

One Midi, 2 Mini’s, and 1 Featherweight. I should take a better photo so you can see just how lovely they really are. The Yellow Mini and the Featherweight have projects going. I love new spindles. The bonus was that Jessalu delivered some bags I had ordered and I found that the spindles fit perfectly in there. I’m a ho’ for the box bag.
I also got some great Hello Yarn goodies. But I was too fast at putting those away (didn’t want anyone to walk off with them). The bonus of the weekend was that I got to stay with Adrian and her family. It was fantastic and I really enjoyed myself there. They have a lovely house and Adrian worked her butt off for me. Thank you again lady.
Poor Boogie Mom has her birthday today but she’s got pneumonia again.
So today she’ll be celebrating by sitting in her chair sick and resting (you will be resting, right Nana?)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
We have new hours at the brick and mortar Spunky Shop.
Monday 10-7 with evening spin in from 4 to 7
Tuesday 10-2 with all day being spin in time.
Wednesday 10-4
Saturday 10-3
One of today’s tasks is to work on the new class schedule. There are no scheduled classes until I return from TNNA in June. If someone needs a private class though, I might be able to work one into the meantime.
It’s a typical Monday. Too tired to get out of my own way and too much to do to be in that situation. Of course maybe I have a better excuse this week for the tired part. Last night we went to see Henry Rollins Spoken word where you can see one of his appearances HERE and HERE if you don’t know what it’s like. It’s funny, it’s political and it makes you think. To some it may also be offensive. Henry is blunt, angry, and likes to swear.
I do have some yarn that I finished.

It’s some Merino Cashmere for something lovely for someone special.
I made more sock yarn. Lovely overtwisted 2ply in Corriepaca.
This is what it looks like when it’s just off the skeiner

And this is what it looks like after a washing.

If I had more energy and brain power I’m sure I would have far more to say.
I am completely and absolutely enammoured with my new sock yarn. This handspun stuff:

It’s a 3 ply made from Mars Corriedale.
Holy cow! I love this stuff.
Somehow this stuff never ended up online but I’ve been dragging it around to the shows. I will be photographing and listing this stuff because I really need to share it with you. I’ve dyed a bunch more to take to MA sheep and wool but I’m definitely taking a couple out so I can have some more of this yarn.
When I got in the base fiber over a year ago, I tested it. It was ok. It was just an average tan corriedale. I like colored fiber so it’s all good. But now that I’ve spun it up and actually started to knit with it….I’m glad that I have a bunch more of it left. I need a pair of socks in every color that I do. I finished one Mars sock and have started the second.

You can’t feel it from there. I know. It’s not super soft or anything but the finished item is just well, just nice. Really nice. It may turn out that I’m alone in my love for this yarn/fiber but that would just mean “more for me!”. I’m going to get in a little knitting time before I have to head off to work.
